Hair flower tutorial

Hair Flower Tutorial
Just thought since I haven't blogged in like 2 MONTHS!!! that I would share a quick and easy tutorial to kick off me blogging again.
Here's what you need:
Flowers (you can use any kind you prefer; I got mine at Michaels and they are awesome)
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Gems for the middle of the flower (you can use any size you would like)
1" grossgrain ribbon
alligator clip or clip of your choice
You are first going to pull the stem off of your flower. Then you want to pull the green plastic thing off of the back. Your flower may start to fall apart that is o.k. we are going to glue it all together.
I also pulled the middle of my flower out because I wanted to put a gem there. You could leave it if you want.
Now you are going to glue all the layers of the flower together. I leave the flower stacked and just left one layer at a time and squeeze a little glue in there and then I repeat on the other side of the flower.
Next you are going to glue the gem in the middle of the flower.
Then take the alligator clip and run a small line of glue across the back of the flower and open your clip and place it on the flower. I slide the piece of ribbon (that is about 2" long) in between the clip at this point so that you don't glue your clip down. Glue both sides of the ribbon down on either side of the clip and it shouldn't go anywhere
Clip it in your hair and you are good to go!!!

What I have been up to...

I have had a very busy month. It has been draining and fun! We had our last day of school today!!! YAY!!! We will take a couple weeks off~doing completely nothing~then we will do our "summer school" which consists of math, reading and games, lots of game playing!!
I also took on a project this past week of building my girls a bunk bed. I found them at a blog called knock off wood. I will post pics of the bunk bed when it is finished. Just need to sand the edges off to make it look a little rustic. Then it is ready to go in their room; except for the ladder I wasn't super hot about the ladder she had with the bunk bed plans, so I need to find one that I do like.
There has also been lots of sewing going on too. Mostly embroidery projects (including 42 towels I did for a school graduation). I am going to sew my two little girls pettiskirts to get their pics taken in this summer but we will see how long it takes for me to get that done.
I am really enjoying being in Young Womens. I absolutely love the girls that I get to work with each week they are all amazing young women!!
O.K. that's it I have rambled enough I promise pics next time.....Oh!!!! One more thing my most amazing hubby gave me a Nikon D3000 for Mother's day!!! How awesome is he??? :) I love him!

I am lame!!

It has been over a month since I posted last!!! I know totally lame. I don't even have a very good excuse. I have just been busy...with church, a play, 2 little dancing girls, crafting, homeschooling, trying to keep my house clean (HAH!), and of course trying to keep up with my little munchkin Peter!! I am getting excited as the end of another school year is closing in on us. I am ready for the break. I hope to post some of the crafty things I have been doing the past month, but no promises.

Happy Birthday Chris!

I would like to think all this beautiful snow was sent here to help us remember my brother and all the things he so enjoyed doing, such as snowboarding. He would have loved a day like this! Today would have been my little brother's birthday he would have been 31 years old.
I miss him and think of him often. Wish he could be here with to celebrate!
Love you little brother!

February has flown by and it is already March and I haven't posted anything, how lame!!! I have been sewing a little but mostly just schooling my kids and getting ready for this consignment sale.
I am hoping it is going to make us enough money to pay for our gas to and from St. Louis next week.
I will be making this apron with a few of my friends this Wednesday I will post pics of the different ones we do. Here is a pic. of the pattern I have, though I have altered it somewhat.

The cakes I made and ......

I am finally posting the cakes I made a couple weeks ago for my sons blue and gold banquet for Cub Scouts. I had so much fun making these cakes. The theme was birthday party. So I made 2 cakes (blue and gold of course) with marshmallow fondant. I was pretty happy with how they turned out!

I usually get my girls letter of the week stuff ready on Sunday and have been attempting to do so all evening, but my hubby is out plowing and the kids keep interrupting me. My last interruption was when Noel came in with a pile of white stuff in her hands and said "Peter got this stuff all over". So of course I went to check it out and this is what I found.....

He looks so stinkin' innocent!
Until he grins like that...

Yummy~Cornstarch!!

I decided to wait until the littles were in bed! :)
